WELCOME PARENTS,
I would like to welcome you and your child to the AWANA Club program at Bible Baptist Church. The name AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed”, from 2 Timothy 2:15 in the Bible. AWANA Clubs International has been “Reaching boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and training them to serve him” for over 50 years.
Our AWANA program provides your child:
The practical tools they need to help you create the moral and spiritual foundation that is so necessary for them to have a rewarding life.
A program that is based on the Bible and the timeless truths found there.
A special place for your children to make new friends
A time to play exciting games
The opportunity to compete in rewarding and challenging contests
The opportunity earn and receive awards for scripture memorization and other achievements
Opportunities to learn and memorize God’s Word, the Bible.
Today’s children are faced with more difficult decisions than ever before, and AWANA’s program seeks to establish them on a firm, Biblical foundation which will provide direction for their daily lives. Each clubber is very special to us and to God. Your assistance as parents is very important to your children so that they may get the most out of AWANA. You can help your children by:
Encouraging them to come each week, by helping them to memorize at least two sections per week (to finish their book by the end of the year) in their handbook
Showing excitement over their achievements, and by communicating any special needs to us.
Spending about 5 minutes each morning and evening with your child reading or reviewing “sections” for the greatest retention. Doing it together shows them that you care for them and about what’s important to them.
You will also find the AWANA material useful for an expanded time of family devotions at home where you can discuss God’s Word and issues that children are confronted with day to day.
Thank you for allowing your child to attend our club and allowing us the opportunity to minister to them. If you have any questions or special concerns, please contact us. We welcome you to visit our club meetings at any time. Our desire is that your child will come to know, love, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ and that they will have a wonderful, growing experience that they will remember for a lifetime!

CLUB INFORMATION
Cubbies
Our preschool program is for 3 and 4 year olds. Every Sunday night is filled with fun and lots of it! Awana is fun with a purpose – to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand. Friendly characters like Cubbie Bear, Luv E. Lamb, Ern E. Elephant, Zip E. Zebra and Gigi Giraffe take preschoolers on a thrilling journey through God’s Word.
Sparks
Fun + Learning = Results! Sparks club meetings for K-2nd grade children combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement. Club meetings are divided into three segments: Classroom Scripture memorization, Game Time, and Bible Story Time. Weekly award presentations are made at the end of each night. Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly, encourages boys and girls to learn verses and complete assignments throughout three different handbooks.
T&T Boys and Girls
Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach 3rd through 6th grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today’s young people will accept Christ as their personal Savior and become tomorrow’s church leaders. Exciting activities get kids excited about God’s Word! Handbooks teach children that life’s ultimate adventure is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. T&T has a cast of fun characters that boys and girls learn from and follow on interesting journeys in the handbooks.
DISCIPLINE
AWANA is an exciting and action-packed 1 1/2 hour club. Order will be necessary during this time. Our policy is always to use positive discipline. Right behavior will help Clubbers to have the most fun they can have in AWANA.
We encourage right behavior by using the 5-Count and 3-Count System:
3-Count– Used for those who are deliberately misbehaving or distracting.*
5-Count– Used for getting and maintaining order.
*Two warnings will be given and the third warning will result in removing the child from the group for the night and contacting the parents or guardians.
